Monisme
hubungan kita dengan alam semakin rentan; ini seperti anak yang melawan orangtuanya. this is the coolest film from Indonesia in the 2020s so far... this movie is not asking questions either trying to find the truth. for 1 hour and 30 minutes, this film tells its core and purpose: scavenge the knowledge. we introduced to these concepts of duality (fiction and reality; science and spirituality; and the main characters that play two distinct characters but are still attached to their original morals and knowledge). at the end, for the last 30 minutes, those concepts of duality are not dumped but rather acknowledged. although we live in two different dimensions, we still share one world and consciousness. if merapi wipes out the lives of those who live around it, it's not only the end for one dimension, but it will wipe out all of it. but that's how merapi live, it's not merapi who needs to change; it's us. a bold debut film by placed the violence in front of us.
