Having the privilege to see this at the cinema is incredibly wonderful. I don't mean seeing the 4K restoration, I mean seeing this film at the cinema at all is a privilege. It was the first Japanese movie I ever saw, and I fell in love immediately; I wasn't going to let the opportunity pass me by—a fitting thought considering the themes present in the film itself. It makes so much sense that the rain scene took influence from Shinji Somai's _Typhoon Club_. Nobuhiro Yamashita made a movie that felt as if it was a spiritual successor and tribute to Somai's youth films, and I say that as someone whose favourite director is Somai. This movie is almost as if it's a memory of when our lives were better, and we didn't have the weight of responsibility on us at all times. _Linda Linda Linda_ is a movie that means a weird amount to me, about cherishing the time and memories you have whilst you're still enjoying them, and to not take it for granted. A charming and fun coming-of-age film featuring four girls scrambling to rehearse a performance in time for their end-of-year school festival amidst all dealing with their own relatable problems. _"We only have a little more time to be our true selves"_
