well definitely surely I was overwhelmed by the broadway version. I don't know if I love it or hate it. I kinda feel like this adaptation could've been better. But it gave me comfort and chill so I think it's good.

I just rewatched this for the first time since high school. I remember liking it a lot but holy cow, this movie is really excellent. The exquisite performances from the lead cast are phenomenal, costuming and set design enhance every second of the run time, and there’s the perfect balance of silly and serious to entertain with more than just the music. This is as well done as musical can be.
