The Philadelphia Story
With a cast as good as this its hard to go wrong. This film is great, with stellar performances and a clever plot. The remake, high society, is slightly better in my opinion, but I did love watching this. The story behind this film is almost as interesting as the film itself, huge respect to Katherine Hepburn who made this happen. This is like an old Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, with three decade defining actors all in one film. Very good.

"I used to be afraid of that look, the withering glance of the goddess." Katharine Hepburn is amazing in this, as is everyone else. This is such a fun, witty, quotable and easy-to-watch film. I loved this but there are some things which are iffy that I don't like: = Dexter pushing Tracy to the ground in the opening scene. Her sister later joking "maybe he's going to sock her again." Then her ending up with him. yeesh. I low-key wish she had ended up alone, on her own terms though. = Tracy's dad giving a weird-ass, creepy excuse (the "youth" dialogue) and blaming her for his infidelity. In the end her coming around to the whole situation and that being seen as some sort of character development. = Her uncle's behavior towards Liz. But other than that it is enjoyable and quite charming.

Beautiful people in a chaotically pretty film...what is more there is to ask? Could this be also considered the OG Challengers (https://boxd.it/zld0), but with no sports and more social class? ....No?
