Children of Men
Narratively ambitious but felt like it fell flat emotionally. Also felt like a slog through the middle bit of shelter seeking. Fantastically directed and a pleasure to watch, but I’m not sure I’ll want to rewatch more than clips for a while.

Jesus, what a crazy time. Unrelenting and brutal, children of men is a film which is hard to describe in words. The ceasefire scene is unbelievable and beautiful, almost everything else is disgusting in all the right ways. It draws you in and makes you really care, it’s a great film.

Pase todo el día pensando en lo que vi el día de ayer porque siendo sincero no pensé que esta película fuera de esta dimensión. Children of Men, representa un mundo agotado, sostenido apenas por la inercia, donde la esperanza dejó de ser una idea y se convirtió en un recuerdo borroso. Cuarón construye un futuro sucio, cansado, violento. La fotografía, la música y los planos largos son tan deslumbrantes dentro del caos. Todo sucede tan rápido la violencia, el miedo, la rutina de sobrevivir. La música aparece con una precisión donde cada intervención de música cargara el peso de lo que ya no puede decirse con imágenes Children of Men, es para mi una obra maestra porque a pesar del caos encuentra la belleza en medio del desastre surge la esperanza recordándonos que incluso cuando todo se cae a pedazos, todavía queda algo que merece ser protegido

The eeriest feeling when the movie gets more accurate respect, in relation with social commentary and reality paralels, i can't imagine tomorrow. A powderkeg of a heartbreaking experience.

Acho que senti medo assistindo esse filme, não um medo genérico, mas sim um medo de que isso possa acontecer (a parte dos imigrantes já está acontecendo). Ele mostra um mundo tão real e tangível que te deixa preocupado. Muito bom.

Children of Men was just remarkable. I had actually just recently even heard of this film. I read here that it had a large majority of 5 star ratings, so I knew I had to watch it. Finally, I got to see it. Wow. This was such a powerful film. It was beautiful and constantly kept me wanting to watch more. Everything about this film was just amazing. It was extremely realistic in it's portrayal of the future. I felt like this could happen after I finished watching it. Gravity was the only movie that I had seen from the director, but now I want to watch even more of his movies, since, so far, he has made two spectacular films.
