One of the strangest films I’ve ever seen. Watched when I was a kid and remembered it fondly but I didn’t remember how peculiar it is. The baby is left multiple times with no regard from the mother or Max, and the death scene is absolutely brutal. The villain, toe cutter or whatever he’s called, is one of the worst villains I’ve ever seen. Max being introduced as a cool, mysterious man and then 5 minutes later being a normal family man is also very strange. The fact he decides to quit the force, when he finds a ra*ped women on the side of the road is so strange to me, surly this would make him want to catch the criminals? And why does he constantly leave his wife by herself after she’s just been attacked? However, it’s very funny and there are some great effects. Plus Mel Gibson is great in this. Overall it’s good but incredibly strange.

Eu amo como esse aqui é base e um protótipo pra tudo que viria. Muitos falam de guerreiros da estrada, com razão, mas é engraçado como esse aqui parece tanto um protótipo pro universo distópico do Miller e, me arrisco em falar, Loucademia de Polícia. O Mel Gibson não sabe a reação ou a sensação pra passar, a lógica jurídica meio freestyle e as cenas de perseguição são muito boas. Adoro os momentos de colisão, a conclusão que não vem diretamente pelo protagonista e a aceitação daquele mundo de violência... É muito bom. Tem alguns deslizes na condução e na montagem!? Sim. Mas funciona e foi a base pra tudo que veio depois, sem falar que a estética de couro e faroeste urbano é muito boa. Um filme bom.

Super low budget dystopian punk action with confusingly bad editing and lack of any characterisation. Nevertheless, the atmosphere and kind of disturbing characters make it a must-see b-movie masterpiece.

The stunts here were pretty impressive, knowing that everything had to be spot on to make sure they were done safely, really adding some grit to the film. Other than the impressive special effects, Mad Maxis an average thriller that left me wishing it had been more interesting. It wasn’t able to fully grab my attention and hold it, with the effects being the thing that made it worthwhile. I know it’ll likely grow on me after some time, and after watching the other films in the series, but this is a meh start to the franchise unfortunately.

Mad Max começa sua premissa muito bem desde o começo. as perseguições são bem gravadas, os personagens são bem apresentados, e a ação é muito bem filmada. No entanto, no meio do filme, a qualidade decai com cortes de cenas e desenvolvimento pífio de personagens. Sinto que o final está ali por estar. Uma pena, já que o início me empolgou.

Ação e violência pura do jeito que tem que ser. Sinto muita falta hoje em dia das trilhas sonoras, efeitos sonoros e jogo de câmera desses filmes antigos. Gostaria muito que voltassem nos filmes atuais.

A terminal crazy... only I got a bronze badge to say I'm one of the good guys.❞ 𐄁─────⋆⁺‧₊☽ ◯ ☾₊‧⁺⋆─────𐄁 Fury Road is one of my favourite films, so I was kinda excited to watch the beginning of the series. And while there are some solid scenes, Mad Max is, unfortunately, a little bit jumbled and messy. The basis of the dystopian universe isn't fully established here, and the characterisation could use some work, but the vehicle chases are awesome. Mel Gibson is a piece of shit, and though I tried not to let that affect my judgement of his performance in this film, it was still very lacking. Overall, not necessarily a bad start, but I hope the next films in the series are a bit better.

It’s amazing how much you can elevate and expand on your own project! The way a creator sits with/analyzes/builds upon their own creation(s) will never not be fascinating to me. All the small moments here that inspired the absolute circus of Fury Road, like a rough draft you come back to decades later to rediscover the charm in the most random parts. Just delightful to witness
