this has been on my watchlist for ages and i’ve been hesitant to watch it because my adhd ass detests most movies over 2 hours but i absolutely fell in love with this! the story, the music, the humor, the cinematography, the overall mood…everything was just right up my alley. i loved every second of this!

this film is a delightful gem that stands out for its refreshing approach and exceptional execution. i think it’s lovely to see a film that gives young actors the opportunity to shine, and they not only meet but exceed expectations. tom everett scott and liv tyler, in particular, deliver standout performances that breathe life and charm into their characters. the slow burn of the relationship between guy and faye is beautifully crafted, allowing their connection to develop naturally and with genuine emotion. this nuanced romance adds a heartfelt layer to the story, making it all the more engaging. the breakdown of “the oneders” is exceptionally well thought out and executed. the film masterfully portrays the band's rise and fall, capturing the complexities of their relationships and the inevitable tensions that come with sudden fame. overall, i would say this is a captivating and wonderfully executed film that leaves a lasting impression (i’ve rewatched it 20+ times).
