Not Without My Daughter

A melodramatic, and deeply problematic film that isn’t fair to Iranians in any way, but it still manages to highlight an actual issue that many women end up going through. I could not help but find myself heavily invested in story, and a lot of this is due to Sally Field’sundeniably great performance. I honestly do not have too much to say about this film other than praising some performances and I found the cinematography by Peter Hannan to be pretty good. By far not the worst movie I’ve seen, and hell I kind of teared up at the end, but man it is hard to overlook its blatant racism at times.
