Gorgeous gorgeous movie and the fight choreography was incredible! Didn't find the romance plot line especially believable, but it’s easy to ignore when everything else is working so well. Very good film!

If we meet again, one of us will have to die. Really appreciate how HOUSE OF FLYING DAGGERS opens as a typical outlaws resisting the government plot but over the next hour or so, the wider conflict slowly distills into a much more intimate personal affair. That’s when the film truly becomes something special. Whenever violence is wrought because of the heart, the only outcome is tragedy. Whenever men let their concept of masculinity consume them, the only ending is tears. A beautiful melodrama.
