The Crow

Stylistic masterpiece, action masterpiece, tonal masterpiece, acting masterpiece, a masterpiece of the revenge genre…This reminds me of the best parts of Tim Burton’s Batman and Sweeney Todd, with an even stronger emotional throughline and (dare I say it) coolness factor. Yeah that’s a new favorite.

The Crow

The Crow is a noir-ish mishmash of violence and vengeance. Brandon Lee gave a decent performance, and it's a shame what happened to him. In the beginning, I was a tad confused, just since the movie starts and has no information on anything. But as the movie went on, I finally understood things, but it seemed to take forever to get to that point. I can see why this is a cult classic, but I don't necessarily think this will go down as a "classic" film. The Crow was a decent vengeance film but isn't spectacular.

The Crow

“It can’t rain all the time.” With quite a simple plot, this film almost entirely relies on its atmosphere to keep you engaged in its world. It’s pretty surface level and I can honestly understand if it isn’t enough for some, but I feel it works well both on its own as a revenge film, as well as one supporting the common but not played out trope of dark looking character inspiring hope to others. Makes for some really cool shots too. Brandon Lee was the standout of course, he owned Eric’s character more than any other.

The Crow

i remembered that i had planned to watch this for the first time this night, so finally making good on that promise. hard to believe i haven’t seen this sooner, it seems grungy and goth enough to be my type of movie! and it has a great soundtrack to boot. it’s an incredibly stylized movie, and it captures its dark and gritty atmosphere very well. good revenge story with moments of humanity between the action sequences. knowing about what happened behind the scene of the movie it does give it more of an underlying sadness. RIP brandon lee.

Stylish and moody. Third time I’ve seen this and I feel like I finally connected with it in a way that was more concrete than just appreciating its style.
