Woodstock
Film #2 of August 2017 Scavenger Hunt Task #17: Watch a film that won the Oscar for Best Documentary. Woodstock is something that will never happen again. A concert series like Woodstock is something that is never going to happen again. While I personally am not a fan of the music that was played at Woodstock, I can still appreciate the festival for what it is; a group of free-spirited people gathering together to enjoy life and listen to good music. Woodstock takes this famed festival and truly shows what it was like there. After watching this documentary, it really feels like I was at least at this festival in spirit, since it is such an intimate documentary. Footage of performers, interviews with festival-goers and the land owner, Woodstock really shows all sides of the festival. From the little moments of people skinny dipping to the calls on stage for people to meet up or call people, the whole festival was documented and shown for what it was. I may not personally have enjoyed the music there, but I still would have loved to have experienced such a festival as this one was. Woodstock is never going to happen again, but this documentary feels like I just attended it myself.
