A Short Story
English: I don't understand anything, cause I didn't find the subtitles, but WHAT A WONDERFUL PHOTOGRAPHY. It's visually PERFECT. GREAT composition of frames. At the end, it left me with a weird feeling, but it's a good sign. I don't know how to rate this, cause I didn't understand anything. But it's interesting. I perceive the fantasy and magic realism. For now, not rating, once I understand the myth and the story, I will do it, but deserve a high one. Spanish: No entendí nada, porque no encontré subtítulos, pero QUÉ FOTOGRAFÍA TAN MARAVILLOSA. Es visualmente PERFECTA. CUADROS REALMENTE HERMOSOS. Al final me dejó una sensación extraña, pero eso es una buena señal. No sé cómo calificar esto, porque no entendí nada. Pero es interesante. Percibo la fantasía y el realismo mágico. Por ahora, no la calificaré, cuando entienda el mito y la historia, lo haré, pero merece alto.

Beautifully shot and tentatively told, directorBi Gan’s A Short Storymanages to evoke powerful emotions through a uniquely dream-like vision. I can’t say it all stuck with me, or that I managed to understand everything he was trying to get across, but I can confidently say it was a one of a kind experience I wouldn’t mind revisiting from time to time.

“𝘏𝘦 𝘸𝘢𝘴 𝘩𝘶𝘯𝘨𝘳𝘺 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘭 𝘮𝘢𝘨𝘪𝘤.” Full blown magical realism that seeks only to gift stories. Stories with no start. Stories with no end. Only good pure intentions of existing as story.

I’m not entirely sure what’s happening here, but I know this short flows like a free wind, feels like a beautiful poem read by an unknown yet talented poet, and looks like a gorgeous painting.

— O olho de um gato pode curar uma alma enlutada. Eu não fazia ideia do que esperar de A Short Story, mas recebi exatamente aquilo de que eu gosto em filmes. É uma história meio surrealista, que parece mais um sonho, que fala sobre vários aspectos humanos por meio dos olhos de um gato. É sobre a busca de respostas sobre a vida, seu propósito, até entendermos que a vida não tem muito coerência lógica para encontrarmos seu significado fechado. Através da jornada do Gato, entendemos que a vida é sobre silêncio, luto e tristeza, mas também sobre se reconectar e sobre o impacto sobre as pessoas nas nossas vidas. Me lembrou um pouco de O Mágico de Oz e de O Pequeno Príncipe, porém de uma forma mais poética e etérea. Por mais que sejam apenas quinze minutos, me senti muito impactada e pensativa. Incrível!
