Diary entries forHere
Here
Picture time bending and twisting before you, all from a single, unmoving point of view. That’s the vibe of this film. The camera holds steady, but the atmosphere shifts in strange, almost surreal ways, with time flowing unpredictably. The plot may not pack much punch, but the way the film is structured tells its own kind of tale.

So this is just how Robert Zemeckis is now, huh. Welcome to Marwen and The Witches aren't flukes, this is just the level he's capable of anymore

POV: You're a cctv. Here are the one of my anticipated movie this year and i had a BIG expectation for this. But i don't know it seems off, the jumpy timeline, the editing, the movie seems so flat and making me confused af. It's a good movie (for sleeping) i had the good sleep while watching this. If they're shooting this in my house, this movie could be a horror movie.

Millennium-spanning (we're talking a few of those), ridiculously sappy, sugary and kinda quintessential (?) melodrama from the all-american nostalgia sentient Robert Zemeckis. Here he takes this equally deranged as it is innovative idea of an ever-changing and dysfunctionally transitioning timeline of one's home through the different eras and eras, and filming it from one stationary perspective: the corner of the living room. For a film that briefly features the wipeout of dinosaurs and then forty minutes later has Tom Hanks in a Benjamin Franklin costume at a halloween party, it's hard not to feel exhausted by this one of a kind experience. If you want weird performances all around, gross de-aging gloss (never looked better), and characters hitting carpet and getting knocked out via visual fx, then Here—a movie that's mostly just Tom Hanks cycling through his wig collection—is a goddamn must-see. One of the most sentimental films ever made—and that's a good thing. Felt like I was watching a pretty good stage-play.

I wanted so bad to care about them and feel sadness for them, like they wasted their life or something. But no they didn’t, they lived what they had to. Now it’s our turn to make sure we can achieve what we want.

The Here of Life (Se sento ancora dire quanto è legnoso il De Niro giovane in The Irishman…)
