Diary entries forAll We Imagine as Light
All We Imagine as Light
Payal Kapadia has crafted something less like a film and more like an experience, a space where you’re invited to pause, reflect, and merge with the quiet.
All We Imagine as Light
Found the movie very much Disorganized as immediate reaction after the watch Got some insights and context through 'Film Fugitives' Movie also mainly explores a different topic than I thought i.e. Mumbai
All We Imagine as Light
The plot and the movie is very beautiful and comfortable to follow even though is kinda long and sometimes boring to me, but i want to keep watching and curios about the ending. It's all about the love of the people in this movie that you want to know how it ends.

All We Imagine as Light
Genuinely do not understand why this film was considered “technically not well made” by the jury but whatever Love the cinematography and sound design Main actress had so much expression from just her eyes If it gets any nomination at the oscars, I think it should be for og screenplay
All We Imagine as Light
Recently, I watched Crossing (2024) which had a quote, "Istanbul is a place where people come to disappear," and this film predominantly tells me, "Mumbai is a place where people become everyone." Big cities always have their distinctive character for everyone but loneliness will always follow them.
All We Imagine as Light
"All We Imagine as Light" is a visually stunning masterpiece that captures the essence of storytelling through its breathtaking cinematography. Every frame feels like a work of art, with carefully crafted visuals that evoke emotions in ways words often cannot. The use of light and shadow, paired with mesmerizing camera work, draws the viewer into its dreamlike atmosphere, making it a film that is as much about what you see as what you feel. The writing, though poetic and thoughtful, falls short of delivering a truly compelling plot. The storyline feels a bit shallow, leaving much to be desired in terms of depth and character development. While the film sets up moments of emotional tension and intrigue, it doesn’t fully explore them, which can leave viewers wanting more substance. However, what the plot lacks in depth, the visuals more than make up for. The storytelling through imagery is where the film truly shines. It conveys emotions and themes in ways that words might struggle to achieve, making it a deeply sensory experience. Whether it’s a single lingering shot or a sweeping sequence, the film’s ability to communicate beauty and emotion without relying heavily on dialogue is remarkable.
All We Imagine as Light
A kaleidoscope of fragments—bodies, faces, cities, lights, etc.—drifted through, carried by those lovely mundane flows & what struck me most was how Kapadia transformed it all into a split-diopter-like vision, layering the background with intricate chaotic subsistence, while the soundtrack surged through, elevating the ambient into something transcendent.
All We Imagine as Light
All We Imagine as Light
All We Imagine as Light is so subtle n poetic. Immersed me in its serenity. The duality shown through the characters Prabha n Anu is not just touching, but also heartbreaking. Can't handle my emotions at the end. Beautiful beautiful movie. Prabha deserves a love life she always dreamt to have 🥲
