Hokuriku Proxy War

Everything from the incredible western-like blocking and camera work, to the fun costume design which compliments its oppressively snowy setting, is so fantastically done. A little more theatrical than other Fukasaku films, but it works really well as a send off to his streak of 70s jitsuroku films. Brutal as all hell, and with excellent dialogue and a truly unique Hokuriku setting, it is a one of a kind film in my opinion.
