SPOOKTOBER #9 I found this sequel to be much more fun and enjoyable than the original. It has a lighter, more entertaining vibe overall, which made it easier to get into. Sure, there are a lot of absurd subplots that create some plot holes, but it didn’t really bother me—I still had a great time watching it. The visuals are also a big step up, with smoother, more modern effects, but they still manage to keep the signature style of the original, which I really appreciated.

a lot of times a sequel to a cult classic doesn’t work that well probably because it relies too much to nostalgia but this film didnt and much like the first one this is so much fun and so campy!!! im obsessed with all the needle drops its so perfect! catherine is so funny as usual and winona is ofc a charmer, love seeing their banters now that lydia is an adult now and with a child. jenna is such a perfect addition, love seeing her dynamic with the two women. im also obsessed with the fat that all monica bellucci did was walk around in that black floaty dress that make it look like shes floating.

Pretty good, maybe even better than the original if not very similar. Good cast and script, not sure what the point of Monica Bellucci was but it’s literally Monica Bellucci so enjoyed her scenes. Some funny moments here and there, overall definitely worth watching.

Tim Burton sabe fazer filme, quando ele quer. Não vou mentir que ver os maneirismos mais agradáveis e a identidade tão forte do Tim Burton, e isso vale pras falhas também, é bom demais. Os anos de carreira serviram pra ditar o tom e a direção de tudo. Aqui o pós-vida é mais rico, interessante e visualmente instigante. A dinâmica de Wynona e Jenna são funcionais, acho comicamente irônico Lydia passar pelo mesmo perrengue que a madrasta, porém sendo sua filha a figura jovem que a repudia. Apesar do caos contribuir pro tom lúdico da coisa, o fato dele ter passado pelo inferno de desenvolvimento percebe-se muita coisa que está jogada ou mal aproveitada, se o filme se inicia com uma ex-esposa mórbida que tem um visual bem marcante e com propósitos de vingança e que gera ameaça até pra quem já tá morto... Não sabe o que fazer com isso e no meio disso temos a relação conturbada de mãe e filha, problemas parentais, um Plot de ressurreição bem aleatório e o próprio Beetlejuice mesmo... Nem tem função narrativa, mas pelo menos o Michael Keaton não tá tão chato e se esse filme tem uma estrela é Katherine O'Hare, Deus a mulher está divina, ela está totalmente entregue a sua proposta e o humor está entregue a sua persona, ela aparece e você sorri, mas se ela fala você gargalha é uma ótima personagem que tem um dos grandes acertos desse filme. Em meio a Jenna Ortega e Wynona Rider tendo que se resolver, Tim Burton cria sua sequência surtada, estapafúrdia, exagerada e que transborda seus maneirismos tanto pra bem quanto pra mal. Mas não só ele é melhor em tudo, como seus excessos criam esse mundo de mortos que é tão cheio de vida quanto carismático, divertido demais!!!

okay i'll admit it ... it was fun. clearly not as good as the first one but enjoyable. the plot is okay but some subplots was so rushed it felt wierd. plus some sfx were really ugly and jenna ortega's acting was 50/50 some times good and other times i was like : "is she really playing her character or just being herself ?". it was still fun overall
