The "monsters" just aren't scary enough, and the romance subplot feels extremely out-of-place. But the idea of "who's actually human and who's one of the robots", now that was interesting. Very much The Thing (https://letterboxd.com/film/the-thing/) vibes which I can totally get behind. I'd say this movie is roughly 90% sci-fi drama and 10% actual horror. Disappointing to say the least.
