Não tem como, Domingo ocioso? Ative o arquétipo do tio que sabe muito e escolha um filme do Jackie Chan. Tá pra nascer o dia que vou dar play em um filme de ação de Hong Kong e vou me decepcionar, esse dia ainda não chegou. Enquanto via esse pensei demais em Tiger On The Beat (Dois Tiras em Apuros), principalmente pelo fator da comédia que flui de algo escatológico e inocente pra uma ação desvairada que te entrega a cena de ação mais pesada, intensa e bem filmada que você pode imaginar. A fisicalidade com que o Chan incorpora sua narrativa, a forma como o efeito prático e o movimento dos corpos dita o ritmo somado aos espaços é de encher os olhos e principalmente quando você nota que casa murro, chute, pulo e queda é tão real quanto doloroso. Gosto como o filme, apesar de ter um foco muito grande na comédia física – queira ou não Buster Keaton é um deferencial muito importante nesse expoente – ele ainda separa um pouco de sua performance e texto acerca de corporações de justiça burocráticas, seja pela imagem que elas transmitem com uma propaganda de recrutamento ou a forma como essa instituição pode ser facilmente corrompida pela força que eles deveriam combater e não tem como é um filme que não te deixa respirar e se o começo com aquela sequência e impactos não te convencerem, nada mais vai. Obra!!!

Chandelier stunt so good they had to play it 3 times. Jackie Chan is surprisingly good in this and he directs the fuck out of it. Love the old filmmaking style with the pan zooms. Killer soundtrack. The very first action sequence blew me away. Would kill for Brigitte Lin and Maggie Cheung

No Strings Attached: A Continuing List of Cherished Favorites (https://boxd.it/1fXU8) Jackie Chan, master of stunts and doing the fucking impossible, delivers what's probably his best film—not to mention, one of the most entertaining actions ever put out. Even for its story which really serves as a mere stuffing in between the action, there's still a pretty tangible plot, fit with Chan's signature comedy—in one scene free of violence , he dangles from answering one phone to another in the office, cords laid out like tripwire, in a frantic pace and naturally getting mixed up between each phone call. It's one of many entertaining joy pieces that the director emits throughout Police Story, and it doesn't even compare to the sheer audacity that's exhaled from the handful of stunts. Danger. Lots of danger. And it's pretty fucking awesome to watch. 4.3/5

Physical Media #7 POLICE STORY (1985) dir. Jackie Chan This film is the literal manifestation of experiencing an unstoppable force meeting an immovable object. Jackie Chan somehow being both. Probably the most fun I’ve had watching a movie in a while. Sure I love introspective character studies, but you know what else I love? Jackie Chankicking a silly amount of people through glass. So. Much. Glass. The stunt work on display in Police Storyis something to marvel at and it’s wonderful to see so much love being put into it. A great amount of character and heart is interwoven into the action, that I guarantee it’s impossible to watch this without a grin across your face. And that ending! Talk about cathartic!
