City Lights
A heartwarming story which holds up well nearly 100 years later. As much as I preferred The Kid, I still really enjoyed this. The ending was so well handled and Charlie Chaplin gets more impressive with every film of his I watch.

This was the first Charlie Chaplin film that really connected with me. It felt like this was the film that was most focused on telling the story compared to his other films that I've seen (those being The Kid and The Gold Rush). And the story is a great one. It's incredibly romantic and when it's not that, it's a very fun watch. Hopefully Modern Times and The Great Dictator, the next Chaplin films on my radar, will be even better.

Um filme simples, porém tocante e magnífico! Além de ter um dos finais mais lindos do cinema. Carlitos é um homem que faz de tudo por uma florista por quem se apaixonou, mas essa mulher nem mesmo conhece seu rosto pela sua condição de cegueira. Eu confesso que já quis me arrebentar no boxe por alguém também hahaha! Na verdade, eu acho que todo homem que já se apaixonou pensou assim em algum momento. O que me cativou na cena final foi que a florista não reconhece Carlitos pela sua audição ou olfato aguçados, mas sim pelo tato com a mão dele, esse é na minha opinião o sentido mais íntimo do ser humano, pois é o que te faz conectar com as outras pessoas através do afeto.

The first Charlie movie I watched, Charlie is a genius director and actor. Funny, love, silly, sad, I really enjoyed the whole movie.

Now I see where Lanthimos got the dance scene for Poor Things from. That aside, this is easily an undisputed Chaplin classic (it’s my first Chaplin film, actually), and it managed to get quite a few laughs out of me, and the romance between the Tramp and the blind flower girl was really sweet.

Expected more from this. I like the ending and it's the reason this film gets 3 stars. Gets kind of boring after a while, could've used more scenes featuring the flower girl.

A movie about the truest and purest love. City Lights is my first visit to silent movie and Chaplin's work. Thx to Emma Stone for recommend me this lol. Without any voice, this movie speak heart-to-heart with me, so much fun n heart-felt.
