This heavy gore fest had some good moments, and some absolutely shocking moments. The blood and gore scenes probably looked good in the 80s but don’t really hold up today, with the flesh looking like plastic. Julia is the scariest monster in this, as well as Frank who needs serious therapy. I can see why it’s a classic but for me it’s not amazing.

Maravilhoso como o filme começa criando esse aspecto de que esses demônios sadomasoquistas são os vilões, mas aí o Clube Barker vai e mostra que o vilão é esse irmão talarico que querendo tesão vendeu a própria alma pros anjos/demônios do prazer. Esse cenário de família nuclear perfeita, a esposa que quer o amante de volta porque ele fazia gostoso, prioridades, e nisso esse âmbito perfeito e imaculado rui aos poucos, a a destruição dessa casa que acaba com essa visão utópica enquanto tenta se safar dos Cenobitas que, mesmo tendo o foragido recuperado, tem muito prazer pra compartilhar e é consequência do trambique do tio. Os efeitos especiais são muito lindos, o Frank que vai de um zumbi decrépito pra um Freddy Krueger chique é muito lindo e as correntes, os Cenobitas que é um mais icônico que o outro, o monstro meio feto que persegue Kirsty... Um hit é um hit meus amores e que tesão!!!

Delicious and nutritious, tastes just like ....... inter-dimensional sadomasochism. "Come to daddy" will be reverberating around in my head for a moment -- lot more than body horror a'goin' on here. And in addition to to all that torturing the body electric, music, imagery, pacing, and the plethora of 80's closeups were pretty swell in their own right!

amei a junção do horror com a fantasia a maquiagem é muito bem feita e os efeitos especiais e práticos, mesmo sendo da década de 80, são muito incríveis

It's rare to have a film be so hyped up and still not know anything about it. It's hard to not have heard of Hellraiser, a film that has gained a huge cult following and is very hard to not have heard of. Despite having heard of this film for so many years, I still was able to go into it knowing absolutely nothing about the plot. This is the best way to watch this film, with little knowledge and expectation, as this film is completely and utterly wild. I was not expecting the level of horror that was in it, as well as how amazing the practical effects were going to be. Having read some of Clive Barker's stories, I knew that this was going to be odd and heavy on the gore, but I didn't realize at how messed up and entertaining it was going to be. Hellraiser is a classic 80's horror film that I am ecstatic to have finally watched.

Night 24 of 31 Nights of Halloween It’s been a while since I last watched Hellraiser, so I’m glad that I got the opportunity to watch this one again, since most of it had been lost to me. It’s a wacky film with some brutal practical effects, which makes for one hell of a good time. I really need to get into the rest of the franchise, since I’ve only made it through the first three, so that might be a goal next year!
