Pet Sematary

This is one of those where being a kid seeing it helped its quality a lot more than seeing it years later. I stand by the sequel being great though <3

Pet Sematary

Hooptober 7/31 ********************* I have this fond memory of reading the book by myself in the wee hours of the night, a storm actually blowing in and rattling the branches against the house, and all while one of my cats at the time (RIP Roscoe, my dear old pal) saw fit to sit on the coffee table and just stare at me for a while. The world, the book, and me all in perfect step. Movie's fine. Ha! That one ghost looking so pleased with himself on the plane and then getting her the rental car.

Pet Sematary

The dad wins the worst father award. I’m sorry, after all that shit you still made the same mistake for a 3rd time??? Fucking dumbass should’ve listened to the old man and ghost dude. The “zombified” cat was kinda cool I guess, but overall this movie is just ok.

I'm really surprised it took me this long to watch this movie, since it was the first Stephen King book I read (6 years ago to be exact). I remember the book being a good book, just not scary. I heard that the movie was scary, but it follows in the book's footprints. It's just not scary. Granted, there are some chilling scenes, but there are none that are downright scary. I did enjoy watching Pet Sematary, but I was just hoping there would be more scares instead of not being scary.

Pet Sematary

Night 8 of 31 Nights of Halloween Yet again, my mom wanted to watch a horror film that would spook her, but wouldn't terrify her. We found a happy ground with Pet Sematary, as it has been a while since I watched the film, so we decided it was the best choice. And what a surprise this film was. Pet Sematary definitely is one of the standout films of the 80's, now that I've seen it with new eyes. It manages to create characters that you truly care about, and when misfortune strikes, you can't help but feel bad for the Creed family. Some of the effects are pretty cheesy, and some of the dialogue is off, but altogether, Pet Sematary is one of the rare films that manages to recreate the terrifying atmosphere that Stephen King had in his novel. The novel will forever hold a place in my heart, since it was the first novel that I read from King, and the film always will have a place along side it as well.

Pet Sematary
