A cult classic which is loved by many, MM2 is pretty good. Definitely better than the first one, but at the same time I don’t really see what all the love is about. Another pretty hard to watch r*pe scene, which ends in murder, and some very questionable dialogue. Mel Gibson carries this hard and overall it’s a decent watch but at this point I’m just looking forward to seeing Fury Road.

O filme que define o que é Mad Max, a estética, as cenas de combate na estrada com direito a suporte aéreo. Aqui ele já tem uma lógica interna melhor desenvolvida. Toda a estética que parecia meio deixada de lado para com as pessoas que não fossem do grupo de ação do Max e aqui, o couro, roupas cortadas, acessórioa de cunho sexual e um vilão que poderia facilmente ter saído de um tabloide BDSM ganham vida e como eu amo o fato de que um dos vilões quer vingança porque mataram seu companheiro Twink. Adoro como filme se aproveita de um time skiping e transforma em lenda os guerreiros da estrada, sendo o Max o último desse grupo mítico. E falando nisso, o filme que consolida Max como um mito, uma lenda, um ícone que tem seu nome e história passada pra frente por histórias contadas em fogueiras. Seja por pessoas que ele ajudou e principalmente as que ele enfrentou na estrada. Max é uma figura tão tocável quanto os eventos podem demonstrar, mas a câmera de Miller não o permite, um mito que as palavras vão torná-lo imortal, logo inalcançável.

The man we called "Max".❞ 𐄁─────⋆⁺‧₊☽ ◯ ☾₊‧⁺⋆─────𐄁 YES. This is what I wanted from the first film: madness and guzzoline. It's easy to spot the elements from this film that later made up Fury Road, and I wish to God I could've seen this on the big screen. I wasn't a huge fan of all the characters, but I did really like Lord Humungus, the spiritual predecessor to Immortan Joe, and his dogs of war. The costumes for both the marauders and the refinery people were awesome, as well as their vehicle designs (again you can tell the rig structure used here was recycled and upgraded for Fury Road). I hate Mel Gibson with a searing passion but I have to say he did a good job as Max as he evolved into more of a myth than man in the arid expanse of the Wasteland. Amazing job on The Road Warrior, George Miller, and I'm holding out hope for the third film being just as good.

“And the road warrior? That was the last we ever saw of him. He lives now only in my memories.” Rips. Great action set pieces. Fun costuming. An improvement on the first entry in every way and cements Max as one of the coolest characters to ever grace the silver screen. Shout out to the gruff cynical man who’s forcefully reminded that life is precious and worth living/saving-archetype. Gotta be one of my favorite genders.
