Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man
so many things to say i don't even know where to begin.. peaky blinders is one of my favourite series ever. to watch cillian play tommy shelby on the big screen was so special (and may i say this was tommy shelby at his hottest, we should've gotten an entire season of him instead of just a movie). the movie was good, it had me feeling all sorts of emotions, cried a few times even, but as a peaky fan, this was underwhelming. i was expecting something grandiose and that would've had me on the edge of my seat like peaky season four, but i guess the fact it was a movie limits the plot. one thing they got right from the series though is the absolutely stunning soundtrack. i would've loved some arctic monkeys in there but the grian chatten original song and the perfect romance by fontaines dc needle drop make up for it. the acting was also amazing. cillian murphy as always never disappoints as tommy shelby, and barry keoghan is actually good as duke shelby. was so nice to be reunited with peaky regulars. helen mcrory and benjamin zephaniah were dearly missed. tom hardy should've been there as alfie. it was good, but i'm also gonna pretend this isn't canon to peaky blinders.

after some great seasons of tv, can finally be put to rest this movie just shows it ran its course
Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man
Peaky Blinders is a show I’ve never managed to really enjoy. It feels much more like a Marvel movie than it does a grounded show, and nothing proves that more than this film. Tommy Shelby is immortalised in Britain as a face for people who perceive themselves as cool and interesting but usally those people have little to no personality. They probably love ‘love island’, getting into fights with strangers and vote reform. It’s not really the shows fault, but you can definitely see why it attracts this audience. The character is literally invisible in the show, poses superpowers as seen in the film, and the plot is very reminiscent of Marvel films of the past. The Nazi plot and the Peaky blinders saving Britain and the world from the Nazis is so farfetched it just comes off as silly. There are some decent moments but the twist is so underwhelming and obvious a child could’ve figured it out. Oh, and the first hour or so is some of the most boring I’ve ever seen.

Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man
Expectation:★★★★ Reality:★★★½ Review: have seen men beg for their lives and fall regardless. I have seen empires burn to the ground. In the end, everyone dies... everyone except the man who actually wants to be dead I thought the series was incredible; at one point it was one of my top 4 favorite series, and I always hoped for a good ending. This movie isn't bad, it's a good movie, but I was expecting more. To be honest, I would have liked to see a series of this, maybe 6-8 episodes. I would have liked that much more. I feel that the hour and 50 minutes leaves me wanting more, and I feel that it has a good pace, but the world is too big to end with a film of this length.Putting that aside, the film's structure is solid; a man who cannot live with the guilt of his actions, something that has been seen since the last season. The son who's doing well will most likely have some kind of school run with the new Peaky Blinders; I don't think Netflix won't capitalize on the fandom.

Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man

58/100 2026 ranked - boxd.it/RPy5O (https://boxd.it/RPy5O) By the order of the peaky fookin Blinders! I’ve just wanted to write that for the longest fucking time because I finished the show before I found Serialzd. Had to smoke one after the film in honour of Tommy fookin Shelby as well. Now this film suffers like many TV films suffer, a series or the characters of a series simply do not translate to a movie, I can’t remember if it ever has. This film was reduced to some highs such as that love scene, the grenade scene and Ada’s death. The rest of it felt like filler. “Once I nearly got fucking everything. But nearly doesn’t count.” That for me is the film itself. Nearly doesn’t count. There’s absolutely zero reason this film had to be made. We got a really effective ending in S6 and although it wasn’t the best season, I was satisfied with the journey. This movie is at times boring b it because I love Peaky Blinders, I marched through appreciating the world, the context and with hope. Tim Roth was a lousy villain. Rebecca played a Romani well but again not much there. Barry did well, looked good too. Cilian had too much on his shoulders to carry a nothing script. What made Peaky Blinders so good was the uncertainty, the fear that shit would go down and not the way you thought it would and this film doesn’t achieve that, it’s extremely predictable and doesn’t make it particularly enjoyable at that. Some montages are good and some are so random and a clear filler. This could’ve been wrapped up in an hour 20 tops. Like Tommy Shelby once said, I’m already broken.
