We never really knew him, did we? As someone who felt they didn’t know their father well enough before he passed, and also has several estranged half-siblings you would think that I’d be primed to enjoy this—I did not, clearly. While there are certainly interesting or thought provoking aspects of the narrative, much of it comes off as cliche or trite and even a bit “amateurish” in the telling. I think a second or third round of rigorous drafting was needed. However, it was nice to see Ewan and Ethan on screen together. It was definitely one of those “and you’d do it too for a check!” roles for both of them though.
