American Nightmare

If there's one thing you can count on from a true crime story or modern documentary, it's having a completely valid reason to leave it firmly thinking "fuck the police" I spent my whole late-teens preparing for college studying to pursue a career in the field and meeting other people trying to break into the scene. I'd like to tell you it's an outlier or that it'd get better; if I thought that, I'd have went through with having a job in the field. Completely and utterly broken to its core. Victims are routinely under the same scope of intensity if not under a higher one than the actual criminals, and it leads to abuse and threats toward victims like Denise, rape and abuse victims nationwide unknown (and even famous like Amber Heard) aren't safe from active smear campaigns perpetrated by this toxic belief system that men, and men in power, know better and believe what they want to believe rather than the true story someone tells them This is a fucked up country. The people in positions to help you don't, and will actively try to harm you. Especially straight white men with axes to grind. Be there for each other while you still can. They won't let us for much longer
