Kora é uma ex-oficial do império do planeta-mãe que tem sua vida pacata e calma abalada quando o império encontra seu planeta em busca de roubar recursos e precisa encontar membros de uma revolução para salvar seu lar. Zack Snyder dirigi e escreve esse filme que vai ser um grande divisor de águas ao longo de sua estréia que já adianto, não é nada animador. Em Rebel Moon o diretor que tem o dom de ser amado e odiado na mesma proporção nos entrega um trabalho 100% vindo de sua autoria. Autoria essa que vai desde o roteiro a até direção e designe de produção. Infelizmente as boas intenções e dedicação de Zack Snyder não são os fatores que vão salvar Rebel Moon de ser uma obra picotada – porque sim o filme vai ganhar uma versão "Snydercut", pra que? – que pega personagens unidimensionais, joga eles em uma história que tem um começo, mas não tem meio. Literalmente são mais de uma hora e meia de personagens pulando pra lá e pra cá num cenário espacial que te fazem se perguntar o tempo todo quem são essas pessoas, isso quando eles tem o mínimo de tempo de tela. Não é exagero falar que Rebel Moon tem os cortes e edição mais fragmentada que se poderia ter nesse ano de 2023. Depois da introdução okay até, o filme descamba em apresentar personagens secundários sem função (apenas para inflar o filme) com propósitos de existir nulos e o único personagem que tem ligação direta com o objetivo da personagem principal... Não tem nem falas direito. É bizarro como o filme foi picotado na tentativa de fazer valer a existência de um Snydercut, mas nada além disso explica a falta de conteúdo desse filme que com esse corte já tem mais de duas horas. Tudo nesse filme é ruim, com excessão é claro dos designes e o visual do filme que são criativos e inspirados, mas eles não tem propósito, além de serem bonitos e mostrar onde o diretor acerta. Porém, até os cenários tem inconsistência na qualidade do CGI de algumas passagens e telas no fundo que olha, faltou um capricho alí, não sei se isso vai ser arrumado na versão estendida, mas é evidente a falta de capricho em alguns locais. E sim como um um bom exemplar de filmes do Snyder, aqui temos câmeras lentas em momentos de ação e interação básica (pra que? Não sei, mas tá lá) e o tom épico e edgy que na maioria das vezes só soa brega No mais, Rebel Moon: A Garota do Fogo é um filme picotado, sem sentido, com personagens que não tem propósito (além de sobrarem no filme), uma direção fraca, sem ritmo e que consegue ser extremamente vazio e genérico. A narrativa é extremamente pobre e o final... gente que constrangedor. Nem os designes de produção criativos de seu idealizador conseguem salvar esse filme de ser uma bomba e o fato dele ser um filme que vai ganhar versão do diretor – PRA QUE?! – só deixam ele mais inconsistente, esquecível e descartável.

Embora sua versão estendida corrija as bizarrices do filme original, essa mais de uma hora de conteúdo extra só escancara uma máxima que virou até piada na internet. Zack Snyder é o famoso cineastas que faz filme com DLC. A primeira versão lançada no final do ano passado desse filme é uma versão extremamente mal montada e feia. Corta para agosto de 2024 temos um filme que adiciona, mantém, cenas que dão nexo ao filme e que o torna mais coeso e mais assimilavel. O prólogo desse filme é coisa de maluco, você percebe como é outro filme, é outra vibe. Os 20 minutos mostrando a batalha daquela família é mais empolgante e trágica que toda a trama principal. Porém, tudo aqui tem um porém. O filme é mais coeso? É. Mas isso não tira o fato do quão genérico e pouco inspirado é esse filme. Ele tem conceitos interessantes, mas a base é muito fraca. Apesar da trama ser melhor conectada e contada, aqui a única grande diferença das cenas adicionais são flashbacks mais longos e uma violência que, em alguns momentos é cômica, mas no geral é uma grande sessão de choques visuais e vísceras e sangue em CGI. Zack Snyder fazendo um filme de sua autoria, pra bem ou pra mal.

43/100 I’m sorry Zack Snyder but this is ass. From shitty dialogues to those boring, overused slowmos and abhorrent supporting characters, this film has all the makings of a disaster. I thought the visuals would be great but they seem choppy and blurry many-a-times. If anyone wants to watch something similar with a different and more advanced plot, watch Foundation on Apple TV, now that is an intergalactic phenomenon. This is quite disappointing because when the first trailer for this came out, I actually liked it but not to be.

DISAPPOINTED😑😑 Out of all the disappointments I've had this year, this is the most surprising. Zack Snyder excels at his cinematography & visuals but lacks very much in the story writing & telling. This movie made me believe that Zack is clearly not a good writer. The overall pace of the movie is slow but yet the story progresses really fast. As much as focus is given on Kora, the other characters are clearly ignored. Their backstories are not shown and there is no character development. And Zack Snyder has overdone it this time in direction. I know slo-mo & flare shots are his style but this time they were way over used. The movie lacks story telling, world building, character development & worst of all, it gets boring. Least expected from Snyder. The only positive is its cinematography & visuals. Zack Snyder didn't fail at that as the movie was filled with many beautiful shots. The movie deserves appreciation for its cinematography only. Expecting to see improvement in the 2nd part😐😐

Despite how some people feel about Zack Snyder I actually liked this. I was expecting It to be good. But the reviews kinda threw me off. I dont know why so many people disliked this. I fully enjoyed it. This does feel like it's own universe which I'm very grateful for. I was expecting It to feel like a cheap knockoff of dune/starwars. This was pretty interesting and I really liked the plot. These characters are pretty sick aswell. The standouts are definitely Kora, Darrian Bloodaxe and Tarak. Glad to see Ray fisher back as well. The villians are pretty cool and i really liked the spider part. I also really like this unique action that takes from tons of different Sci fi media. I honestly at first thought this was just gonna be half a film like most part one movies, however it had an ending that I enjoyed to close one half of the story. I have no clue what films this could be supposedly a ripoff of. The only slight ones I could say are Starwars,dune and maybe blade runner during that one part. However I don't care what people say I enjoyed this.

Director’s Cut Chapter One: Chalice of Blood Going to log this under the “original” film until Letterboxd figures its shit out. Now, let me preface this by saying I did not watch the PG-13 cut nor do I ever plan to. I WAS going to watch it…until Netflix announced the Director’s Cut and at that point, why bother? I’m not going to waste my precious viewing time unless I’m watching the director’s true vision. Therefore, I don’t have anything to compare this to. All that being said, I thoroughly enjoyed this film. I’ve always been an avid Snyder fan and never really understood why he gets so much hate, especially in regard to his style. This is everything I expect from him and more: bloody kills, epic slow-motion shots, perfect VFX, badass characters, and a runtime that stretches on forever and ever. And you’re telling me he made a movie that looks THIS good for less than $100 million?? I’ve seen some people praising this as being so much better than the PG-13 cut, and some others saying it’s only slightly better if not just as bad. I don’t really know what to think or say about all that muck, except that I loved this and I don’t know why other people don’t and I can’t wait to check out Part 2!
