An American Werewolf in London

Finally starting to watch horror movies half way through October. Transformation sequences and makeup were really sick and David being tormented by the rotting corpse of his dead friend was more hardcore then I expected from, what I thought was going to be, kinda of kitschy movie. Overall enjoyable but wouldn’t say I’m like head over heels for this movie or anything, nothing life changing but probably still the best werewolf movie I’ve seen thus far. However I am head over heels for Jenny Agutter in this movie.

An American Werewolf in London

Yo dawg, I heard you like practical effects? Man that transformation scene was incredible, still holds up even now. One thing I really enjoyed was how every time Jack shows up he just looks even more dead/decaying than the last time. This movie balances mundane and wildly unhinged scenes very well; the dream sequence with the werewolf mafia shooting up David’s folk’s house caught me off guard. Overall a very fun watch, starting to realize I really like [specific types of] body horror.

An American Werewolf in London

I would be lying if I said I didn't primarily watch this movie for that scene, but I was pleasantly surprised by how hilarious this thing is. Several scenes made me laugh out loud (the best of which being the movie theater scene). This was such a fun watch.

An American Werewolf in London

I'd love to say that I loved this, but I didn't. I honestly don't have much to say about it. It's an ok film. There were some scenes that were spectacular, but there wasn't anything else that memorable. Maybe I should watch it another time since it's one of the most iconic horror movies of all time. I'll just have to try this again another time.

An American Werewolf in London

silly movie. All the bits that I really loved here such as Griffin Dunne being very hot, that gore-makeup on him look so good, when the Muppets was playing on the TV and the runny egg and toast looked really good. Some of the best practical makeup, par on par with John Carpenter's The Thing.
