Phenomenal. Maika Monroe is absolutely incredible in this. If you’re not all in on her, then you’re an idiot. Cassavetes takes a pulp novel and turns it into a modern day SEARCHERS riff. Surprising in its fidelity to the source material, Cassavetes nips and tucks bits that didn’t work, and expands in other areas. The result is a sprawling epic that can proudly sit at the table with its inspirations, and what is, at this moment, my favorite film of 2023z 2023 Ranked (https://boxd.it/kiMdu)
