honestly just as anxiety inducing on the second watch but also still as good. watched in imax for its 30th anniversary with my brother, who was watching it for the first time, and 10 minutes after the movie ended he's still in shock. the last 15 minutes are honestly so heartbreaking i almost cried this time around.

English: Goddamn… this is perfect in every sense. A BRUTAL MASTERPIECE. Every clue in each crime scene, every line of dialogue develops the story and deepens the characters. Mills and Somerset are beautifully the opposite, a perfect duality. And that ending? Speechless. Rewatching this after a long time is wild, because you start to notice how everything Somerset says to Mills feels like an omen, a quiet and ironic warning. Every single moment builds up to that PEAK CINEMA ending. Everything was flawless — photography, characters, story, pacing, script, and score. This is peak crime/thriller filmmaking. This is peak cinema. Period. P.S.: I love the song choices — that jazzy vibe. That opening track, Closer (Precursor) by Nine Inch Nails, absolutely NAILS it. The editing in that intro is wonderful. Guilty by Gravity Kills and Bowie’s track are great too; they add the perfect industrial touch.

kevin spacey came in the movie and from that point on it was elite funny to watch this after the usual suspects , i stumbled upon two spacey masterclasses when i watch this again in a year or two im sure ill enjoy even more this was tense when it was supposed to be, mysterious and clever. enjoyed.

A truly special and amazing film, Se7en is pretty much a perfect mystery thriller. With many horror elements which add to the suspense, Se7en has everything which makes cinema great. The acting, storytelling and conclusion are all so iconic. The box. Say no more.

Percebi algo na revisão de Se7en que nunca havia notado anteriormente, nem pensando a respeito do filme (que não revisitava fazia 6 anos): a inevitabilidade do destino. É curioso, pois, todos no filme de Fincher se encontram presos ao próprio desfecho inevitável dentro de um universo que parece um purgatório, onde as ruas são consumidas pela manifestação da morte (o modo como Fincher usa o 35 mm para estabelecer uma atmosfera desoladora, sem qualquer resquício de esperança) e por sua presença inexorável. Tracy é o melhor exemplo, pois Fincher e o diretor de fotografia Darius Khondji encaram a presença de Paltrow com uma melancolia desoladora, seja no close-up ao ver o esposo trabalhar incessantemente ou ao acompanhá-la caminhando pelo apartamento vazio. A personagem é encarnada com uma delicadeza que faz da sua sina ainda mais chocante, especialmente como Fincher antecipa o seu desfecho trágico através do contraste com a sua doçura; já o espírito impulsivo e emocionalmente instável de Mills é reafirmado constantemente para, no segmento derradeiro, salientar a percepção de que não havia outro caminho e sua escolha era irrevogável; Somerset, contudo, tenta se apropriar da apatia para se distanciar da realidade que o mesmo condena, mas ao final, percebe que está permanentemente ligado a ela e não consegue dar as costas a tudo. Pensando nisso, o clímax impacta menos pela reviravolta no roteiro, mas em como Fincher articula o segmento sob uma lógica pessimista que ratifica sua natureza inexorável. Não havia forma dos três fugirem daquilo; essa é a verdadeira tragédia de Se7en: a incapacidade de escapar da morte. John Doe é a manifestação da desgraça que destrói a última fagulha de bondade que existia e leva cada um dos três a um doloroso encerramento.
