Diary entries forThe Fog
The Fog
The Fog
“Our celebration tonight is a travesty. You're honoring murderers” Atmospheric, tense, creepy, and an effective treatise on how forgiving yourself for the past can be every bit as difficult as asking others to forgive you. When people say John Carpenter is an essential director, this is one of the works cited
The Fog
Oh, just living that catch-of-the-day-stale-beer-cursed-beach life. Turns out you only need to shine a bunch of colors through an array of fog machines and film the 80's at night, that's all I really want from my creeping dread.

The Fog
For a while I had thought The Hauntingwas my for it’s horror film of all time, but now I’ve come to realize it’s The Fog. Atmospheric and minimalistic, The Fog proves you don’t need to have gore, or even show the antagonists for a majority of the film, to have a film be downright terrifying. I absolutely adore this film, and truly believe this is my favorite horror film.
The Fog
This bounces as one of my favorite horror films of all time, and is the literal perfect watch for Halloween day. Carpenter was firing at 110% here, creating my favorite story of his. I love this film so much and it’s always a treat to get to watch it every Halloween season.
The Fog
The Fog is just amazing. Even though John Carpenter thinks this movie is horrible, it is fantastic. It was very high tech and scary, even though it came out in 1980. The time of horror movies was then, and this just shows what quality movies the 80's produced.
The Fog
The Fog quite possibly is one of the greatest cinematic achievements of all time. Carpenter created a film with so much tension and pure terror that audiences must have been horrified upon their first watch. The score is just as iconic as the score for Halloween, being in the same vein stylistically, which makes the film even more terrifying. The sets, the effects, the fog, everything works wonders to create one of my favorite films of all time.
The Fog
Night 31 of 31 Nights of Halloween The Fog easily is my favorite horror film. It’s a film that grows on me every time I watch it, and I never tire of it. John Carpenter is working at his best on all levels here, creating some of his most striking visuals, and composing my favorite score from his filmography. I love old ghost stories, especially ones featured around the ocean, so The Fogmanages to check every box that I could ask for in a horror film. An absolute gem of a film, and a fantastic closing for a chilly Halloween night. This is KAB, Antonio Bay, California
The Fog
I literally have so much love for this film and can confidently say it is my favorite horror film. Ever. So much fun every time I watch it. Truly one of my favorite films.
