Far worse than I was expecting and that’s saying something. The horror is good for the first half but rapidly wares off and starts to become more like a comedy. This film is so bad it almost memes itself. The ‘message’ is laughably bad and the director really doesn’t seem to be able to read the room when it comes to women and men. Really strange choices for where to take the film, I know he’s trying to get brownie points but this isn’t the way to go about it. It’s embarrassing that multiple people watched this prior to release and thought, yeah that’s perfect, let’s release it. The only good thing is Jessie Buckleys performance. She does her job well. The writing, horror and directing are all horrible. It’s a shame because I do think, if down correctly, this could’ve been a good film. But it’s not, it’s awful.

oh bordel qu'est-ce que je viens de regarder ?! Bon je vais essayer d'être concis. Ce que je peut dire de ce film c'est qu'il est putain de beau ! c'est un véritable bijoux de photographie. J'ai été dès le début du film a fond dedans grâce notamment a l'ambiance générale mais aussi a la musique qui colle parfaitement. Pendants les 2 premiers tiers du film j'étais a fond c'était flippant bien filmé etc et la le 3e acte. jusqu'à présent le film était plutôt subtil dans ses thématiques abordées, l'horreur et le ton mais la c'est tout l'inverse c'est plutôt gore, j'irais même jusqu'à dire que c'est dégelasse. Et forcément quand on regarde ça on est perdu mais on se dit qu'il doit y'avoir un sens derrière tout ça. Alors oui il y a un sens mais c'est beaucoup trop perché pour moi et je ne comprend pas vraiment bien même après avoir trouvé la réponse. Bref j'ai été déçu de la fin j'hésite encore entre lui mettre 3 ou 3.5/5 on verra, c'était quand même une sacré expérience

I was originally going to give this movie 3 stars, but when the Mpreg (male pregnant) part came up it really disturbed and traumatized me. Please someone tell me how to unwatch this? It traumatized me so much, please YOU GUYS SHOULDN'T WATCH THIS SICK MOVIE. All the men always be men, whatever their skins are....

Yawn. I’m not afraid to admit that most A24 movies go straight over my head. Good acting though, and good technical execution. But I will not recommend this or watch it ever again.

Men is a film that swings big. With that, I don’t think that it manages to make every single swing, but for the most part, it succeeds. It’s equal parts horrifying as it is bizarre, making for a film that fits in well with the brand that A24 has made for itself. The acting and the aesthetics of the film are a masterclass, which makes the film as watachable as it is. As I was watching it, I was expecting something deeper to eventually emerge, to find something of real substance, and came to find not much. It’s a film that presents itself as wanting to say something deep and meaningful, but doesn’t manage to get puddle deep in its metaphors. It was an expectation to have some deeper meaning behind the film, which I think hindered my initial viewing. Now having seen the film, I now know what to expect from it, and will now have the chance to have a good time watching a truly bizarre spectacle, rather than attempt to find some deeper meaning behind it. Even with the lack of depth I was hoping for, Men still is one hell of a ride. Alex Garland has two fantastic films under his belt thus far, and Men is another good addition to his catalogue. I’m a bit disappointed there wasn’t more to the film, but I’m so glad that it took the risks that it did, since those major risks paid off in the end.
