The Awakening

Night 4 of 31 Nights of Halloween The Awakening takes the idea of the mummy film and turns it on its head, crafting a film that tries new things, but feels a bit too disjointed in the end. There are some really cool concepts with the film, with the lack of the mummy’s presence throughout a majority of the film being the biggest surprise. The idea of a curse following people around, rather than the undead, is an interesting idea, but not enough was done to keep you invested fully. It’s entertaining, but it can be a drag at times. The dub for the film can be pretty wacky, but does add a bit of charm to the film. I wish a little more was done with the plot, but overall, I thought this was fine!
