Magic Mike
Okay, so for the most part I really liked this movie. It was entertaining. However: 1) That yellow hue/color grading is incredibly distracting - nauseating, even 2) The sister’s acting is so wooden and bland. Casting issue 3) I was not interested in the story beyond the dancing. It was basic 4) Unnecessary and cliche love story. Sexy stripper falls in love with the girl next door friend of the buddy 5) That yellow hue is absolutely nauseating. I am bewildered by the fact that this made the Final Cut. Did anyone look at it and not want to throw up. There’s other ways of representing being in FL. Argghh it drove me bonkers
Magic Mike
its a guilty pleasure of mine
Magic Mike
I've been wanting to watch this movie for a couple years now. I remember seeing the trailer, and I was dying to watch it. Finally, with my roommate, we decided to watch it. For some reason, I just couldn't get into the movie. It may have been the fact that I had to work on some math homework, but that's something that I did while I was in high school. I couldn't follow the plot, or even tell what the plot of the movie was. It's going to have to be a movie that I can actually sit down and watch, so it's getting an average score for now. Hopefully next time I watch it I actually will get to enjoy it.
Magic Mike
What a surprise Magic Mike was. A film about male entertainers that happens to be directed by Steven Soderbergh that actually manages to show humanity in an industry shrouded with negativity, it's a miracle that this film actually graced screens. But grace it did, with audiences being captivated with muscled men doing some revealing choreography. Magic Mike isn't all that people make it out to be, with the club scenes making up maybe 20 minutes of the total film, but that made for a captivating film about life outside of adult entertainment. Magic Mike lives in infamy as being one of those films that only women can enjoy, but here I am, enjoying a film about male strippers. Who would've known.
Magic Mike
I don’t know why I ever doubt Soderbergh. A fantastic well made film with a great performance by Tatum. McConaughey is peak McConaughey in this, I swear half the words coming out of his mouth were “alright.” Really dug this movie.
Magic Mike
“I don’t want to fucking be some 40-year-old stripper!” MAGIC MIKE is interesting in that it’s less about the stripping (although that is a fun element) and more of a character study about trying to make a better life for yourself, and reaching your goals—while suffering through what you have to do to survive in the mean time. A lot of it is very thoughtful. However, a lot of it also drags. Can’t say I found anything particularly compelling in the last third, and the romance is a dud. The nepo-baby opposite Channing could not act to save her life, my god. Also, oddly enough, I didn’t find any of the stripping scenes sexy? I also didn’t find the dancing to be particularly fun. Which is weird because Channing is capable of both. Step Up, anyone? Alex Pettyfer being here is the real indicator this is a dud though. A very good looking man who has also never been in a good movie his entire career.
Magic Mike
I've heard more "alright, alright, alright"s in Magic Mike then I've seen in the comment section of any of Matthew's videos on YouTube
