Jane Russell and Marilyn Monroe have some of the best chemistry I’ve seen in film, a joy to watch. There is countless iconic scenes in this, especially Marilyn singing ‘Diamonds Are a Girl's Best Friend’. The outfits are also great in this, with vibrant colours and style to match. The only thing I didn’t like about this was how much music was in it. For somebody who doesn’t like musicals this was a bit much, but the strong plot and leads still made this an enjoyable watch. Maybe not Monroes best film, but it’s definitely up there and probably her most iconic.

a fun fact i learned sometime before i watched this film is that one of the swimmers accidentally knocked Jane Russell into the pool and they kept it in, very cool. Didn't know Diamonds Are A Girls Best Friend was from this movie.

Dois tipos de pessoas no mundo: quem está atrás de diamantes e quem está atrás de amor. Marilyn Monroe provou que dá pra querer os dois e ainda roubar a cena em cada frame. Entre coreografias icônicas e diálogos afiados da divonica Dorothy, só posso dizer que esse filme e icônico, já meu fav da Marilyn Obs: A Dorothy realmente entregou tudo no final kkkk

until somewhat recently, i had an aversion to old movies because i thought they were boring so i had never seen a marilyn monroe film until i decided to watch this on a whim and goddamn her and jane did not disappoint. not only are they both absolutely stunning and talented but they’re so unbelievably charming. dororthy in particular really dazzled me. Her trying to fuck that whole olympics team and straight up telling that man to hold her breath ‘til she calls…fucking ICONIC. i am absolutely going to watch more films from these two!
