Citation
A film with all the right intentions, but was overdrawn and exhausted by the end of the 140 minute runtime, Citation shows that you can tell a compelling story about a subject that has been covered before. I’m not sure exactly why they decided to make this film as long as they did, as they could have cut a lot of the filler to create a really streamlined story. I also realized that any music that was featured in the film would drown out any dialogue that was behind it, making some conversations pretty difficult to get through at times. Citation is an interesting, albeit a drawn out, watch that ultimately needed some serious trimming to its runtime. It is available on Netflix, which makes me glad to see that a Nigerian drama is able to find a home on such a large platform, I just wish they were doing more marketing toward these smaller films they acquire.
