Mrs. Harris Goes to Paris

Mrs. Harris Goes to Paris

❝We need our dreams more than ever.❞ • ───── ✬✥✬ ───── • Such a sweet, endearing movie. It may not be everyone's cup of tea but it's worth watching at least once. Lesley Manville did excellently as Mrs Harris and made me cry several times. I wish we could've seen her explore more of Paris outside of her walks with André though just to emphasise how magical her trip was. All of the cast was amazing, but the characters of Madame Colbert, Violet and André stood out; the first perfectly portraying the cold villain with a redemption ending, the second being the loveliest and most cheerful friend, and the third pulling off the handsome, kind and charming accountant. The costuming was absolutely beautiful - no wonder the film got Oscar nominated. All of the dresses, especially the ones shown in the 10th anniversary show were exquisite and had me wishing I could go back in time. Added with gorgeous architecture and lovely soundtrack the scene was set very thoroughly and immersively. Overall, this was a comforting watch that reminded me of one of my favourites, Julie & Julia; I will be coming back to Mrs Harris often.

Mrs. Harris Goes to Paris

A friend of mine watched this and simply gave his review as “MRS. HARRIS was off the chain.” I don’t think I’d go that far, but I was surprised at how delightfully charming I found the film. Momcore cinema to the max. 2022 Ranked (https://boxd.it/fSyMM)
