Diary entries forMars Attacks!
Mars Attacks!
Whew, first time watching it since the 90's. Cutesy, cheeky... and oddly not that interesting for me outside of "Oh THEY'RE in this movie, too!
Mars Attacks!
Cumple en gran medida lo que se propone. Es muy buena como pelรญcula para pasar el rato que ademรกs llega a ser muy divertida.
Mars Attacks!
The amount of talent here is astronomical and not a single actor could keep my attention. I was excited going in, I really was. I have a love of UFO's, aliens and B-Movies. This should be up my alley! Sadly, this film drags it's feet getting to the actual "Attack". It's sluggish and bored me to death. All the interesting characters are axed early on and the other characters are not interesting in the slightest. It feels afraid to fully go into B-Movie territory, opting for poorly done CGI instead of hammy practical VFX. It feels more like a weird 90's comedy more than anything else (which I'm not too big into) I love the designs and soundtrack a lot though. The 50's style flying saucers, big brained alien designs and large robots all look amazing (if not for the poor CGI). There's also some great tracking shots when the action gets going and it's great This movie had a lot of flaws and struggled to keep me awake (which is a shame considering it's short runtime and me being fully awake going into it). The designs are a 10/10 but everything else just kinda blew chunks

When in the history of movies have we ever gotten such a film with such a cast. A strong representation of America and its many facets within its public faces since Altmanโs Nashville (https://letterboxd.com/bulgogiboi/film/nashville/). SJPโs head on a pooch and a decapitated Brosnan with Nicholson as a president is just elite. Cinema at its finest!
Mars Attacks!
I like this film on the merit that Mars Attacks! is a big budget pulp film with an absurdly stacked cast yet not a lot of people saw it really. and I think that's kinda sad because this film is unfortunately my kind of vibe. It's not as Gothic as regular Burton flick is. But it is sharp enough to enhance the pulp elements in it (that I believe was derived from a different set of books somewhere but I don't exactly remember). But anyway, this film delivers on its premise. It may not be the cup of tea for regular joes but for 1950s pulp freaks it does the job more than it should be sometimes.
