How to Die Young in Manila
Some Nights I Feel Like Dying How to Die Young in Manila manages to create an atmosphere that feels heavy at first glance. Every detail says something about the environment it’s portraying. It shows a version of Manila that feels desensitized, where decay and danger are so common that they barely shock anyone anymore. Visually, it’s striking. The mood is clear, the imagery is deliberate, and you can feel the weight of what it’s trying to say. But for me, the metaphors felt a bit too dense for a 12-minute runtime. There’s so much symbolism packed into such a short span that some of it doesn’t fully land before the film ends.
