A pretty standard historical epic by trade. Unique by its own existence. THE WOMAN KING doesn’t break any realnew ground, except for its subject matter. And in that respect it excels qt being a fascinating tale of the Dahomey. Viola Davis is excellent as always, Lashana Lynch is fantastic too, but it’s Thuso Mbedo who is the real star here, and she’s really fantastic. not much to say…i had a good time with this, historical inaccuracies, bad african accents and all! i’d really love to see more films set in african or inspired by african history/cultures. the continent is such a rich and vibrant place, with storied peoples—it’s a shame we don’t see it much in mainstream media!

Woman King La película que debía haber generado olas y olas de elogios y que realmente paso sin pena ni gloria por las salas de cine, temporadas de premiación y seguramente llegara a Streams de la misma manera. El drama bélico encabezado por una increíble Viola Davis es una experiencia imperdible que definitivamente le hace justicia a esas opiniones que la catalogan como “Ese Tipo de películas que ya nadie hace”. Repleta de Violencia y coraje, la mujer del rey batalla con una Meeto de empoderamiento visceral repleta de acción bélica artesanal.
