Wolf Man

Strange. There are quite a few plot holes when you just sit and think about what’s going on during the film, and quite a lot of it makes no sense. The wolf men are intelligent at times yet absolutely brain dead a few minutes later. It’s a funny watch which did get me with a jump scare once, watched in 4dx which was a good time.

Wolf Man

Domeeeeeeeenica!

Wolf Man

Robert Eggers is absolutely killing this next Xmas, first off, so let's just get that out of the way Secondly this was actually better than I'd expected given all the 2-3 stars I'd seen on my feed for this the past week?? I'll always take something ambitious over just a straight shot-for-shot remake (god knows the concept and the film has had enough of those over decades). And yeah I'm not sorry for thinking this is ambitious. A werewolf film that doesn't have a transformation scene because the whole film itself past the first scene is one? A werewolf film that gives you the wolf's visual and auditory point-of-view, while compare/contrasting it with a human bystander's? A werewolf film that's tensest scare may just be the revelation of a spider? Like, this swings for a lot! And I think it gets at least a double, maybe even a triple, out of the effort; that final act I won't fight anybody on, the instant I saw that Game of Thrones lighting I said out loud "oh no" in my empty-ass theater, but it doesn't undo everything before it Invisible Man 2020 still clears, obviously

Wolf Man

Mommy, there's a furry man behind you 💜. Oh. Nevermind it's daddy. Maybe i'm too excited and have high expectation on this one, but this movie is less scary than i thought, kinda weird, and boring at some scene. Also this movie called Wolf Man, is the "Wolf" in room with us? I had a flashback to when i watch Night Swim last year, why January horror releases have a good premise but it didn't executed well?

Wolf Man

this is a pretty good slow burn werewolf film. I don't understand the hate for it. like yeah it starts off being a bit of a family drama but American Werewolf in London spends the majority of its time being a romance than anything else and y'all don't have a problem with that. the werewolf night vision was cool, the fx were good, the story was good, the acting was good. another Whannell Win for me.

Wolf Man

This is probably my most disappointing film of the year so far. I really wanted to enjoy this despite all the bad reviews I had seen, but unfortunately, I fear they were right. The story is very tragic, and I felt terrible for the little girl and her mom at the end. However, I feel like we didn’t have enough time to get to know these characters in the first act before we were thrown into the thick of the woods, being chased by the so-called WolfMan. My biggest gripe with this movie, is the half-assed transformation and design of the WolfMan. If you’re gonna do a werewolf movie, make it look like an actual werewolf and not a guy with some extra hair on him, sharper/longer nails and slightly altered jaws and teeth. Even his father who had been that beast for over 30 years looked more human than wolf. They really dropped the ball with that, and I have been further soured by Leigh Whannell’s filmmaking. It wasn’t all bad though, I thought the POV shots where it switched between the character’s perspectives and the audio distorting bc they couldn’t understand each other was kinda creative. Overall, not the worst movie I’ve ever seen, but it still reeks of Blumhouse and could’ve been so much better.

Wolf Man

The few cool, interesting cinematic choices this film makes are completely clouded by its overall banality. I didn’t go in with very high expectations to begin with, but there’s nothing more disappointing than a boring movie.

Wolf Man

Wolf Man may look visually stunning, but the horrors of this film are more bark than bite. The cold open is certainly indicative of what is to come - stunning visuals, good performances, but horrors that feel half-baked. I think that is what is most frustrating about this film - the fact that there are some great ideas, but nothing is fully developed enough to warrant any further examination. Abbott brings an inherent sadness to his character, adding some much needed depth, but his performance alone is not enough to save this film. The practical effects looked great, but I’m greedy and wanted so much more. It’s an interesting transformation, but when I think of the Wolfman, this rendition is far from what I was anticipating. Garner feels a bit miscast here, but I think a majority of the issues is with the script with her character, not having much depth, leaving Garner with little to actually work with. I had so much hope for this film, so it’s unfortunate to feel as let down as I do by this. Whannell did some great work with The Invisible Man, which I was hoping to see translate here, but it unfortunately does not. Maybe on subsequent watching I’ll find more to enjoy, but on this initial watch, I’m left disappointed.

Wolf Man

É fraco mas não deixa de ser um bom filme. Precisamos de mais filmes de lobisomem.
