Licence to Kill
This one is the most violent and serious Bond, which is a fun change. Dalton again performs well and the action scenes are incredible. The Bond girls let this one down, even though Q plays a great role. Sanchez is an okay villain too, but not great.

T. Dalton's gone rogue against the cartel and he's mad as hell! More direct, more intimate stakes by removing the looming doom of Cold War powerplays and shifting to much more personal motives. More potent violence in this one, too, at least by Bond standards. Really picks up steam once the team-up with Lowell occurs, extra time with Q is a delight, and a smoldering young Benicio del Toro rocks out as lead henchman. There's still some kooky stuff, but we've left a good deal of the usual Bond frivolity in the past. The modern action movie beckons from just around the corner.

Baby Benicio! Of course he was always this cool. Dalton may not be as suave and cool as Connery but he is angry and determined. Great stunts, a little slow in the middle but fun overall.

it legitimately took me two weeks and three states to finish this, which is more a product of circumstance than my actual experience w the movie. i forgot how different it is than really any other until casino royale—brutal as fuck and hardcore. more like a michael mann film than a james bond, which is probably why i love it. desmond llewelyn has long been my favorite part of these and it’s really, really fun to see him have his moment—his mexican disguise??? amazing. carey lowell is fun and brash and prob top five bond girls even if poor talisa soto can’t act to save her life
