Well, this was bad. The Marsh girl who has perfect hair and skin yet grew up swimming in Lakes and couldn’t read or write till she was in her 20s. Story makes no scene. The scene where they’re laying by the marsh about to have sex and the guys like ‘oh no I don’t want to now’ but provides no reason as to why he doesn’t want to is so stupid. The story is also very boring and drawn out. Maybe I didn’t like it because I haven’t read the book but yeah I got little enjoyment out of this. The only bit that I did think was good was how it ended.

Girlie has been through a lot in her life to cause her to be like that. I can't blame her. I mean you go girl! The plot twist makes me yes girl i knew something.

a melodramtic crime drama that feels like it's something you'd have come across flipping through the channels in the mid00s. if the book/film had been adapted by a director with a distinct vision, then perhaps i could see it being salvaged. good t-swift song tho. (also, as a former bookseller i hate this book – it took up all the fucking shelf space for two years.)

Comecei esse sem expectativas nenhuma e só lembrei da existência dele por causa da música da taylor. Me pegou desprevenido pq eu comecei achando que seria péssimo, e claro, tem uns defeitos mas não achei que são suficientes para me afastar da história e deixar de torcer pela Kya. O que eu gostaria de uma abordagem melhor é a parte do julgamento, ficou muito vaga e se junta todas as cenas não vai dar pra entender nada, extremamente vago. Amei o desenvolvimento da personagem e o final me agradou muito. Pode ser que o meu julgamento sobre o próprio filme seja no calor do momento pq antes de começar eu tava entediado e o filme me prendeu bastante.

why did he cut the cake like that? how does the whole town somehow have mommy or daddy issues? why do the love interests look alike? and why do they have such similar names??? i have so many questions. i knew the person had the skills and motive to do it but the end still surprised me

não consigo parar de encarar a tela desde que o filme acabou… é tão puro. é tudo tão bonito de um jeito calmo e dolorido. a fotografia, o ritmo, a música, a forma como a natureza quase fala com a personagem… tudo parece respirar junto com a kya. e ela… sério, quero dar os parabéns à Daisy por interpretar tão silenciosamente um papel, que mesmo sem muitas palavras, diz tanto. impossível não torcer por ela. é como se a gente crescesse com ela ali no brejo, sentisse a solidão, o abandono, a força que ela encontra em si mesma. é lindo demais como a natureaz não é só cenário, é tipo um personagem. uma coisa meio mágica, sabe? mas que faz todo o sentido para quem a protagonista é. e o jeito que a kya observa os detalhes do mundo, como se tudo tivesse valor, também me tocou muito. não esperava me emocionar tanto. e o final, né. ainda tô besta porque nunca ia imaginar, mas ainda assim fez todo sentido e concluiu com uma mensagem belíssima. um lugar bem longe daqui é o tipo de filme que fica ecoando na cabeça depois que termina.
