Diary entries forDiamonds Are Forever
Diamonds Are Forever
Continuing on with the Bond films, Diamonds is Connery’s at his best. A fun, action packed film with some great scenes, good story and amazing soundtrack. The more I think about this film the more I enjoy it, a true classic.
Diamonds Are Forever
After the unexpected heights of Lazenby's turn, we're back to more tiresome form, though coated in more out-and-out silliness. Connery is given immediate license to brutalize, Nickelodeon-sliming like three dudes. Gray's Blofeld is a wonderfully smug take, and the setups allowed by his doubles are fun. Can practically read the 'breast more boobily' screening notes. We're supposed to get behind foiling a smuggling plot against diamond mining industrialists? Haha. Any view of Vegas in a different era is fascinating and reeks of death. Mr. Wint and Mr. Kidd are a treasure. I want to see their malicious and ongoing adventures re-imagined in 60's/70's children's storybook form, a "My Little Golden Gun" illustrated caper, if you will. Excited to finally be getting to a new Bond era after all these Connery paychecks.
Diamonds Are Forever
Los diamantes serán eternos pero está película no lo es.
Diamonds Are Forever
unfortunately like this one a lot less on rewatch. think it’s a combination of the humor not being as funny + missing lazenby a lot more. going back to this campy tone annoys me!
