Nanook of the North

A highly impressive documentary feat, with some truly beautiful shots of the Canadian landscape, while giving a glimpse into the lives of the indigenous people. While there were many scenes that were staged, it still paints a comprehensive look into the Eskimo people, highlighting their relationship with the landscape and nature around them. I’m honestly very impressed by this documentary, I am very interested to see what other documentaries are worthwhile from the days of early cinema.

Nanook of the North

a timeless geographical artifact, one of the first documentaries/docudramas ever even with all the inaccuracies and misrepresentations given the limited knowledge of robert flaherty towards the inuit people. a classic dramatic feat
