The Broadway Melody
Watching on April’s fools day but this felt like the biggest joke of the past century. Absolutely criminally bad, so bad it’s almost funny when I think back to it but no funny while watching. Horrendous performances, especially Queenie who literally cannot act, bad music, awful pacing and one of the most boring things I’ve ever had to watch. I did watch the entire 100 minutes though, so I will never have to again in my life, what an achievement. Best part of the film is when it ends, only not 1/2 star as I completed watching it.

There may have been some gorgeous set pieces, but aesthetics couldn’t save The Broadway Melody from becoming a forgetful film, filled with characters you never truly like, and pacing that really needed some work. It’s fine, it’s watchable, but definitely isn’t what you’d expect for Best Picture of the year.

Es el equivalente a Avatar en nuestros tiempos. Una película a finales de los 20's que incluía musical y diálogos debió ser la octava maravilla pero lamentablemente envejeció con el tiempo.
