The Wolf of Snow Hollow
“This is the job. And it sucks. But you're gonna lose a lot more than that if you don't start focusing on the important stuff.”
The Wolf of Snow Hollow
Robert Forster will be missed.
The Wolf of Snow Hollow
the thing that really brings this movie down is its poor attempt at comedy. it was a poor attempt at mixing drama and comedy. the writing overall was not good.
The Wolf of Snow Hollow
Night 17 of 31 Nights of Halloween I’m surprised at how much I actually enjoyed this film, even with some of the problems that I had with it. The lead character is utterly despicable, and it’s hard to watch the film and enjoy it when there’s a character that is just so terrible on screen. But, when he’s not screaming at random people, the film is actually pretty enjoyable! The creature effects are pretty good, the isolated location really adds to the overall cold atmosphere, and there’s some characters that actually are pretty enjoyable. Overall, it’s a pretty solid werewolf film, even if I couldn’t stand watching it at times becuase of the lead.
The Wolf of Snow Hollow
Man, seeing this a second time and it blew me away. Maybe I’m just more on the Jim Cummings wavelength now, or maybe it’s just that I knew what to expect, but this time everything really clicked. Damn fine film.
The Wolf of Snow Hollow
From the erratic editing to the throwback premise of an alleged werewolf causing carnage in a small town, Jim Cummings' sophomore feature manages to be both refreshing and very familiar — there's something truly cool about seeing a classic horror B-movie plot with a heart, despite it being so close to falling short. It takes a while to get its groove going, but The Wolf of Snow Hollow sure gets moving; Cummings' black humor suddenly fits while it slowly deteriorates into a melancholic portrayal of a father breaking down, responsively elevating the film to being more than just a horror-comedy. There are moments when the conflicting tones don't gel so much together, but by the end it felt like it managed to work it out between the two. Also, 85 minutes? That's my cup of tea.
The Wolf of Snow Hollow
A small town somewhat supernatural murder mystery that somehow also manages to be endearing.
