Corpo Celeste
Seems very lived in, for sure. the characters and the family dynamic feel real. The framing is tight in the first half, sometimes too tight perhaps that it made me uncomfortable how close it was. Like the color grading and how the scenes were shot from top angle when we see everything from her pov from the rooftop (kinda reminds me of The Wind Will Carry Us) or in class (cat scene), & the play of light and shadow when she plays with the light, the scene where the papers move as she walks back after the slap. dropped crucifix is such a cool plot point. Really highlighted how some see religion as a career, I don’t think I’ve seen it—outside of Austen—so explicitly stated/framed as such. The scene with her and the crucifix gave very “you’re not made for human eyes” energy. Think it had more substance than La Chimera.
