A.I. Artificial Intelligence

I just hope David was real and living happily with Monica. I just sad seeing him. Well Steven Spielberg so visionary with this concept, like he's predict the future, i'm impressed and fascinated with this movie, enjoy watching it too. You guys watch me this would be me in 20 years later or maybe 10 years from now, i would buy a robot to accompany me.

I like weird movies but I couldn’t get into this. Gigolo Joe gives me nightmares.

Movie Club: #7 - He just wants to be a real boy 🥺 I wasn't really enjoying the first 20-so minutes of this but after that it got really good and kept me interested the whole time. Great story with interesting characters you come to care for. Interesting film for Spielberg, very different from the other stuff I've seen from him. Teddy is definitely my favorite character. He was a fun little bear. I see the ending two ways, one way as happy and one way as depressing. Happy: David got what he wanted. He got to reunite with his "mom" and got to spend a whole day with her without anybody else interrupting. No Martin, no Henry, just David and his "mom". Depressing: David got what he wanted. Sort of. He got to reunite with his "mom", except he didn't. He reunited with a clone/impersonation of his "mom". He got to spend the whole day with this clone of his "mom" and then witnessed her die at the end. If he had never seen this clone, he would not have to go through the pain of seeing his "mother" die. I think I believe the depressing ending a bit more than the happy ending. It is pretty sad when you think about it. 8.5/10
A.I. Artificial Intelligence
“is 50 years a long time?” “i don’t think so.” human connection, and to that end, love, is perhaps the most important thing in the universe. it leaves an echo even after we’re gone. it defines us. what we do, what art we make, where and how far we’ll go. it can lead us to great joys, but also infinite sadness. but to experience it all the same is what makes us human—what makes us real. so true, spielberg. so true.
A.I. Artificial Intelligence
A.I. Artificial Intelligence is easily one of the best, and quintessential science fiction movie. I loved it!!!!! I can only imagine what an experience it would've been to see it on the big screen. It is an intelligent, heartfelt film treated with much care, and filled with coool scenes. Its fantastic visuals, and incredible world building remind me of Blade Runner 2049. The structure of testing the potential ability to create an AI that could mirror the core qualities of human nature, with a semi-unsuspecting character in the middle, while exploring moral questions surrounding the technological advancement, remind me of Ex Machina. It is the best of both worlds; could have even been a possible influence on those works? Haley Joel Osment's performance was superb. Also, I am adding it to the proper alien representation cinematic universe, where Arrival exists as well. Love me that stuff. Jude Law, such a cutiee 😘

“𝘛𝘩𝘦𝘺 𝘮𝘢𝘥𝘦 𝘶𝘴 𝘵𝘰𝘰 𝘴𝘮𝘢𝘳𝘵, 𝘵𝘰𝘰 𝘲𝘶𝘪𝘤𝘬, 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘵𝘰𝘰 𝘮𝘢𝘯𝘺. 𝘞𝘦 𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘴𝘶𝘧𝘧𝘦𝘳𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘮𝘪𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘬𝘦𝘴 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘺’𝘷𝘦 𝘮𝘢𝘥𝘦.” Incredible the way Spielberg compiled this with so much heart and earnestness with the same levels of entertainment found in his other films. Skillfully done. Though the conclusion is far off from where I thought it was going to go, I’ve let this review sit for almost a week now and I’m a fan of it. It’s Spielberg giving us what we want but turned on its head to make us think, believe, dream, wonder. Forgive. It’s so forgiving that it becomes as sentimental as young Osment’s performance, which is beyond stellar. How he turns a twinkle in his eye, near tears that reaches for the heart never escapes to amaze me. I remember it, still, so deeply, face blanched in a Halloween flashlight with the crisp breaths of a chilling, creeping fear in Signs (https://letterboxd.com/film/signs/). A beautiful response to Kubrick because it was put out in 2001. But also because it doesn’t provide an answer. It provides. And when I say it forgives. I mean, in actuality, that it provides.

I should have known where this was going lmao. Spielberg gonna Spielberg. Thought it was good until the last 20 or so minutes where it dipped some for me. Not the direction I really cared for, but whatever I guess. Interesting concept. Characters were ok. Worth watching, but this was just fine to me. 6.6
