Diary entries forButch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid
Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid
the line "i feel like the sundance kid behind a synthesizer" from arctic monkeys' song black treacle was playing on a loop in my head throughout the entire movie. will need to rewatch someday when i'm not as tired because i lowkey fell asleep in some places.
Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid
As much as I enjoyed the clever writing and good action scenes, they were few and far between. Most of this is just Butch and Kid running away, they’re running for pretty much the entire film. The scenes of Kid shooting are great, and the opening scene is simply fantastic. I just would’ve preferred a bit less talking and a bit more action. Still a fun time though.

Achis, sonó mi ringtone de vida, desde Spider-Man 2 que mi vida no sonaba tan romantica y melancólicamente triste.
Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid
brokeback mountain for old people. Those music montages are PEAK, it's so random but I love it. Great buddy film!
Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid
Greatest on-screen chemistry of all time? Redford and Newman are the best movie buddies I’ve probably ever seen. I watched this once in college for a film class but barely even payed attention and man, that was stupid. This movie is perfect. Even the montages (including the Rain Drops montage) are a bit long but they’re so fun who cares. This is as fun as a film can get, with heart, action, and a lot of laughs. Two magnetic lead performances, stellar work from Katherine Ross, it’s just everything you’d want to sit and enjoy.
Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid
“Don’t you get tired of being right all the time?” The dry sarcastic, and often biting humor from Redford’s Sundance character is a highlight, that might be an odd thing to pick up on, but I was surprised at how funny the interactions between him and Newman’s Butch were. It only served to add a sense of believability to their relationship. Their genuine camaraderie is the foundation on which the entire film is built on, and because it is so phenomenal, it’s easy to get invested in the narrative. Not that that was particularly hard either, this is a slick and tight picture. The second act chase is great, not only the “will they or won’t they catch them?”back and forth, but because of the creeping sense of dread that not only sets into the viewer’s mind, but the characters as well. The two men realizing that their way of life in America is surprisingly earnest and sad. And once you the viewer understands that Butch and Sundance have hit the proverbial end of the road, you know this can only end one of two ways. Also, god bless whoever made Robert keep his top three buttons unfastened nearly all the time. They just get it. You know?
