Modern Romance
Smooth dialogue, that editing scene was hella fun
Modern Romance
Albert Brooks is incredible.
Modern Romance
Bruno Kirby was so damn good. I hope Albert Brooks writes and directs another film soon, it’s been far too long.
Modern Romance
Albert Brooks in the aftermath of a breakup, high and momentarily vibing to Walter Murphy’s A Fifth of Beethoven. Genius stuff. Watching this guy talk is hilarious and also very scary – especially as the toxic traits toward his partner pile up. Then there are the scenes where he’s cutting a film together, and another where he’s searching for sound fx to accompany the footprints of an actor. Can’t help but feel they’re not as connected to the central story as the rest, but even if it does mess up the flow of the film, it still makes for an excellent screaming hulk gag.
